The Eyewear Frame Quality Management Department of iDetail Sunglasses Manufacturers issues this 15 Check Standards for Glasses Frame Quality guide.
1. Check the model, size, color, and quantity of eyeglass frames (100% inspected)
A: The glasses frame model meets the requirements of the sample drawings
B: Dimensional tolerance of metal glasses frame: A position: ±0.2mm B position: ±0.2mm; CIR±0.33mm;
DBL±0.5mm; ED±0.2mm spleen length±2mm;
Dimensional tolerance of acetate frame: A position: ±0.3mm; B position: ±0.3mm; CIR±0.7mm;
DBL±0.5mm; ED±0.3mm spleen length±2mm
C: The color meets the order and sample requirements
D: The quantity is consistent with the actual incoming goods
2. Optical testing of spectacle frames (100% inspection)
A: The filter coefficient meets the production requirements
B: Optical parameters meet standard requirements
C: Place the glasses frame on the outside of the three positioning brackets of the optical tester (simulating actual human body wearing).
D: When the screen below Sanzhou on the optical detector displays any two items or more as PASS, it is a qualified product. On the contrary, if two or more items appear FAIL, it is a defective product. CLASS1 and CLASS2 are judged as PASS, but if CLASS2 appears, improvement is required.
3. Eye rim shape quality standard for eyeglass frames (AQL 1.5 standard)
That is, Masterlens needs to comply with standard dimensional tolerance requirements and use standard sheets for trial assembly and inspection.
4. Welding strength quality standards for spectacle frames (5 pairs/batch)
A: Use the detection pliers to make the nose pad at a 45° angle three times. The nose pad rotates 90° clockwise along the axis, then returns to the original position, rotates 90° counterclockwise, and returns to the original position for 1 cycle. The nose pad lines and welding points must not be broken or fall off.
B: Use 400g tensile force test (end-pieces strength); the end-pieces bend inward about 30°, and then return to the original position, and also bend outward 30°, and then return to the original position. There should be no cracks or desoldering at the welding points.
C: Nose bridge tester: Both sides of the spleen are subjected to a certain pressure for 15-20 seconds, and the distance change is ≦2mm. Bend inward about 30°, and then return to the original position. Also, bend outward 30°, and then return to the original position; clockwise. Twist 30°, and then return to the original position. Twist 30° counterclockwise, and return to the original position. There will be no cracking or desoldering of the soldering points.
5. Adhesion quality standards for eyeglass frame colors
A: 3M610-1PK adhesive tape test
B: Artificial sweat test
C: Salt spray test
D: Aging test
E: Hundred grid knife test
F: The metal frame uses a metal shaft with a diameter of 13mm; the plastic frame uses a special plastic shaft with a diameter of 25mm. The color and electroplating layer must not fall off after bending to 180°.
6. Adhesion quality standards for gem/LOGO/pad printing/lens coating (100% inspected)
A: For gem and LOGO testing, use 3M396 adhesive tape and stick it to the surface to be tested. Maintain an angle of 60° and quickly peel off the adhesive tape to prevent LOGO and gemstones from falling off.
B: Pad printing and coated lens test 3M610-1PK tape is adhered to the surface to be tested and maintained at a 60° angle. Quickly remove the tape to prevent pad printing and coated lenses from falling off.
7. 100% check of parts specifications of spectacle frames (lenses, nose pad, acetate end tip, decorations, screws, hinges)
Complying with the order and sample needs, the screws and frame can accept a tolerance of ≦0.3mm.
8. Whether the pad printing content, printing ink color, and pad printing position are correct and whether there are any missing prints (100% inspection)
Comply with printing data requirements: common colors correspond to customer color numbers: GUNMETAL; GOLD; BLACK; GREY; BROWN; WHITE
9. Surface quality standards of eyeglass frames (scars, deformation, impurities, white haze, color loss, color differences) – 100% inspected
QC checks physical defective samples for reference and distinguishes areas A, B, and C of eyeglass frames.
10. Quality standards for the fit between various parts of spectacle frames (end-pieces and temple, lenses with eye-rim, temple and acetate end-tip, decoration <LOGO gem>)
A: The height of the metal temple is not acceptable, and the insertion of the end-piece into the eye rim is not acceptable.
B: The height of the end-pieces is higher than the temple, the height of the temple and the acetate end-tip, the exposed seam is acceptable ≦0.1mm, the rim-lock is misplaced and the exposed seam is acceptable ≦0.2mm.
C: The gap between the lens and the eye rim is acceptable ≦at 0.1mm
D: The arch of the temple is acceptable ±2°
E: Eye-rim base detection (lens curvature detection)
F: Manual check of the fit between the lens and the eyeglass frame
11. Welding quality standards for eyeglass frames, whether there is desoldering, over-welding, or under-welding at the welding position
The welding position is correct, the welding quality is perfect, no more welding or less welding, and there should be no flying or sagging when confirming the drawings.
12. The face curvature, temple open position, level, acetate end tip (temple) curvature, and length quality of the spectacle frame
- The surface curvature of the glasses frame according to the drawing can be accepted with a tolerance of ±1°。
- The open position of the temple can be accepted with a tolerance of ±2mm, and the horizontal height of the glasses frame can be accepted with a tolerance of ±0.3m。
- The acetate end tip curvature can be tolerated with a tolerance of ±2°
13. Pantoscopic Angle Quality Standard for Eyeglass Frames
The pantoscopic Angle is acceptable ±1°
14. Quality standards for hinge functions of eyeglass frames (flexibility, tightness)
A: The temple can rebound quickly after opening it 20-25° with your hands.
B: When closed at 45°, the temple can be photographed naturally
C: The positioning hinge must have a positioning function and must not touch the lens.
D: The temple will not open and close naturally when it opens to 90°.
15. Different Pantoscopic Angle lead to the height and low status of the temple and the cross degree of the temple
A: When colose the temple, it can naturally close at 90° and cannot be tilted.
B: After closing the temple, it generally forms a straight line and can cross ±1°, except for special structures.
C: Internal deflection means that the internal curve of the temple should be symmetrical to the left and right of the figure.
Quality eyeglass frames combine comfort, durability, and style. They provide a proper fit, last a long time, and are designed to suit your personal style and preferences. We must master how to judge the quality of eyeglass frames when purchasing them or working with a custom sunglasses manufacturer to design sunglasses and build our own eyewear brand.
